Monica's practice involves representing and counseling clients regarding federal and state employment law issues. Monica's employment litigation experience includes defending employers in lawsuits involving claims of discrimination and violations of the WARN Act and representing a plaintiff in a six week jury trial in federal district court regarding claims of discrimination, retaliation, unequal pay, and defamation. Monica also counsels employers on issues regarding employment policies and procedures, employee training programs, wage and hour compliance, and workforce reductions.

Prior to joining Bello Black & Welsh, Monica practiced employment and commercial litigation as a member of the trial department at Brown Rudnick LLP, a large Boston-based firm. Monica received her B.A. from the University of Michigan, with high honors, where she was a member of Phi Beta Kappa. She received her J.D. from Boston University School of Law, with honors in Litigation and Dispute Resolution. At Boston University School of Law, Monica served as an editor of the Public Interest Law Journal and participated in the Boston University Civil Litigation Clinic.
